Developing Sustainable Grassland Ecosystems: Integrating Agriculture, Nature Conservation, and Society
On 21 January, 2025, the final event of the Grassworks project took place at the Representation of Lower Saxony in Berlin. As part of the event, key findings from the project—conducted within the BiodiWert program—were presented. The goal was to demonstrate that biodiversity and productive land use can successfully go hand in hand, a topic of great relevance in light of ongoing societal debates, including farmers' protests and discussions surrounding the EU Nature Restoration Law.
The event featured short presentations on project results, discussions on practical implementation, and a panel discussion moderated by Tanja Busse. Renowned experts from science, policy, and practice—including Prof. Vicky Temperton, Prof. Anita Kirmer, Prof. Volker Beckmann, Dr. Jürgen Metzner, Prof. Josef Settele, and Dr. Simone Schneider—shared valuable insights.
Below, you will find video recordings of the event, the program, and the speakers' presentations.
